Macau casino concessionaire Galaxy Entertainment Group Ltd (GEG) says it has organised a range of activities to celebrate the Chinese New Year (CNY) season with various community groups and the company’s employees.

The effort included the 10th consecutive year of sponsorship for the “GEG Community Caring Programme”, organised by the Peng On Tung Tele-assistance Service of the General Union of Neighbourhood Associations of Macau (“UGAMM”). It saw festive gifts presented to “Peng On Tung seniors living alone, and elderly couples,” Galaxy Entertainment said in a press release.

Other seasonal initiatives included inviting members of the “15th GEG Youth Achievement Programme” to visit the “Golden Fortunes: the Macau Debut of Zhu Bingren’s Copper Art” exhibition and take part in a Chinese New Year‑themed copper rubbing workshop. The casino company also hosted a “Responsible Gaming CNY Roadshow” and “Great Luck in Chinese New Year” festive activities in the back‑of‑house areas of the group’s properties.

Together with the Youth Volunteers Association of Macao, Galaxy Entertainment held a responsible gaming event at the back‑of‑house areas of its properties.

“The initiative attracted close to 4,000 team member participants, helping to deepen their understanding” regarding responsible gaming protocols, the company said.

Galaxy Entertainment also said it arranged a variety of themed activities in the back‑of‑house areas at its venues, “including spring couplets writing workshops, festive booth games, and special Chinese New Year dishes at the team member canteens”.

The company is hosting, until March 8, the “GEG Presents: Lai Chi Vun Shipyards Spring Festival Bazaar of Fortune” at a historic former boat-building complex in the Coloane district of Macau.

Highlights onsite there include a “display of 302 dancing lion heads,” attractions such as the “Chinese New Year limited festive wishing trees,” and a “popular ice-skating rink, creating a lively Spring Festival Bazaar for local residents and tourists,” according to the update.
