Gaming testing specialist and technical consultancy Gaming Laboratories International LLC (GLI) has named Phil Harrison (pictured) to the position of senior manager of regulator development, compliance and quality assurance for GLI Australia Pty Ltd. Mr Harrison will operate out of the company’s laboratory in Adelaide, Australia.
In his new role, Mr Harrison will work with regulators and clients throughout GLI’s Australian and Asian marketplaces, the company said in a press release.
“His extensive and diverse experience, combined with his commitment and dedication to standards and responsible gambling, make Phil an incredibly valuable asset to GLI and to our clients throughout the Australia and Asian marketplaces,” stated GLI Australia chief executive Ian Hughes.
GLI is one of the largest international independent providers of testing, inspection and certification services to the gaming, wagering and lottery industries.
The company has developed several global technical standards applying to a wide array of sectors within the gaming industry. Many of them are recognised and adopted by jurisdictions around the world.
Mr Harrison’s experience in the gaming industry dates back to 1994 when gaming machines were first introduced to South Australia. After 16 years with the regional regulator, he recently served as executive officer and director of Club Safe, an initiative of the Australian club industry to support clubs with gaming and promote responsible gambling.
