U.K.-based Inspired Gaming Group Ltd, a supplier of virtual sports and server-based video lottery games, announced on Tuesday a game development partnership with fantasy author and entrepreneur Ian Livingstone (pictured).
Inspired has a presence in the virtual sports game market in mainland China’s state lottery system. The company is now looking to expand its operations into other Asian regions.
As co-founder of British game production and retailing firm Games Workshop Ltd, Mr Livingstone launched the U.S. role-playing game ‘Dungeons & Dragons’ in Europe. He co-wrote the ‘Fighting Fantasy’ gamebook series which sold many millions of copies, and also launched many internationally successful video games.
“Convergence is a key trend in our industry at the moment. Our partnership will uniquely focus on leveraging the convergence between console gaming, mobile and gambling,” Luke Alverez, founder and chief executive of Inspired, said in a statement.
“We have some great ideas in the pipeline and we look forward to launching these hit games together,” he added.
Mr Livingstone said: “This is a new design challenge for me, and I’m looking forward to collaborating with Inspired on new projects, applying video game mechanics and gameplay to server-based gaming products.”
