Interblock DD, a specialist in the supply of casino electronic table games, announced on Tuesday the appointment of Tom Rafferty (pictured) as general counsel. Mr Rafferty will be based at Interblock’s North American headquarters in Las Vegas, Nevada.
“We are very pleased to welcome Tom to the Interblock senior leadership team, a move that sends a clear signal that Interblock is moving to the next level as an organisation,” said John Connelly, the firm’s chief executive, in a statement accompanying the announcement.
“Interblock is moving swiftly and aggressively to expand and protect our portfolio of original game content and other intellectual property, while continuing to build one of the best teams in the gaming industry,” added the CEO.
Most recently, Mr Rafferty served as vice president of intellectual property at casino and lottery equipment supplier Scientific Games Corp. As deputy general counsel, corporate assets, he managed the team providing legal advice on intellectual property, litigation, immigration, human resources and Scientific Games’ interactive business.
Mr Rafferty is a registered patent attorney with the United States Patent and Trademark Office. He has experience as a software developer and was a founder of two technology companies, according to the Interblock announcement.
