‘Joyup’ is Light & Wonder’s happy evolution of its ‘Jin Ji Bao Xi’ slot series

Light & Wonder Inc says it is building on its “most popular and successful” family of slot games in Asia markets via its “Joyup” product, presented on the company’s “Cosmic Dual” slot cabinet.

“Joyup’ is a traditional evolution of the ‘Jin Ji Bao Xi’ series. That is our most popular and successful family [of games] within Asia, which has seen different iterations over time,” Ethan Vella (pictured), Light & Wonder’s product lead for electronic gaming machines in Asia, told GGRAsia.

Joyup – available in “Phoenix” and ‘Dragon” themes – offers “upgraded mechanics designed to drive player engagement,” and has already been approved in most Asian markets, noted the manager.

“This is taking the original Jin Ji Bao Xi model, mechanics, gameplay and a base pay table that everyone loves, and giving it a unique and modern update with the new ‘Joyup coin’,” Mr Vella stated.

The Joyup coin concept takes what the firm describes as a player favourite – its ‘Top up’ bonus-round mechanic with free games – and adds a “dynamic ability to upgrade the repeat win prize,” he added.

Mr Vella was speaking at the Global Gaming Expo (G2E) Asia 2026 casino trade show and conference in Macau.

Joyup is available as a main-floor linked progressive, with a VIP version also offered. The latter is available as a standalone progressive.

The other new slot title for Cosmic Dual platform is “Fortune Doors”, which can be configured as either a linked progressive or as a standalone progressive.

The game mechanic is based on a cash-on-reels ‘hold and spin’ setup, combined with what the supplier describes as an innovative secondary hold-and-spin feature and bonus prizes. Fortune Doors’ themes include “Sapphire Sage” and “Amethyst Princess”.

Many of Light & Wonder’s games are “customisable between the two” progressive formats, depending on a casino operator’s requirements, Mr Vella noted.

The Cosmic Dual cabinet features dual 27-inch HD displays with minimal bezels offering what the manufacturer calls “seamless content presentation”. The platform also has the firm’s trademarked iDECK – a dual-purpose player interface and button deck – and what the firm says are enhanced ergonomic features.

The Cosmic Dual cabinet and its games are intended to complement, rather than replace, other parts of Light & Wonder’s slot-machine portfolio, Mr Vella said.

Referring to the company’s Kascada Dual Screen cabinet, he added: “We have successful content on the Kascada 27, which will stay on the floor” at customers’ casinos.

Mr Vella noted: “The goal of a new cabinet introduction is to bring the latest hardware to gaming floors so that we can continue to deliver the highest-quality games for the future from a visual and mechanical perspective.”

“As well as these fantastic launch titles” for Cosmic Dual, “we do have a back catalogue of games from our library, to give customers assurance we have a strong portfolio [of games] to support the cabinet,” he added.
