The Macau Billionaire Poker Event Co Ltd (MBP) will organise the MBP Summer Showdown in July and August this year, with the “Hope Cup” as the main event of the tournament. The tournament – still subject to regulatory approval – will run from July 27 to August 8, with the main event scheduled for July 28 to August 3.
As much as 800 players are expected to be competing for a guaranteed prize pool of HKD20 million (US$2.58 million) in the main event, which the organisers say is “the largest guaranteed prize pool in Asia thus far”.
The MBP Summer Showdown tournament will also include the “High Rollers” and “Ladies Cup” events, and will be live streamed.
The firm runs a poker room (pictured) at Casino Babylon at the Macau Fisherman’s Wharf, which is operated by casino services firm Macau Legend Development Ltd.
Earlier this year, MBP hosted the Spring Challenge between March 17 and 20. The event was also live-streamed on the Internet.
Macau Billionaire Poker’s room will be hosting this month the Asian Poker Tour (APT) Macau 2017, which will run for nine days starting June 14 . The APT Macau 2017 – which still needs approval from the local regulator, according to APT’s official website – will feature one main event and 15 side events.
