Melco Resorts (Philippines) Foundation Corp (MRP Foundation), the social arm of the operator of the City of Dreams Manila complex (pictured), has donated PHP9.9-million (US$167,657) worth of security equipment and vehicles to the Philippine National Capital Region Police Office (NCR-PO).
The donation was supported by the Philippine Amusement and Gaming Corp (Pagcor), the country’s casino regulator. It aims to “support the police office’s mandate to ensure peace and order, public safety, and internal security,” according to company representatives cited in local media reports.
MRP Foundation’s chairman and president Clarence Chung, was quoted as saying: “We are thankful for the opportunity to contribute to PNP-NCRPO’s vital mandate to uphold the safety and security of our community and other areas of their jurisdiction.”
He added: “We are equally grateful to Pagcor for their utmost support to this endeavour, which along with other foundation initiatives, affirm our commitment towards nation-building.”
The latest donation is said to be one of MRP Foundation’s various undertakings focused on environment, education, culture, and health programmes.
City of Dreams Manila is operated by a unit of global casino developer Melco Resorts & Entertainment Ltd.
