Casino developer and operator Melco Resorts and Entertainment Ltd says it has appointed Evan Winkler (pictured in a file photo) as company president with effect from Wednesday. Mr Winkler will be responsible for Melco Resorts’ “day-to-day operational matters globally,” the company said in a press release that day.
The company’s operations departments will report directly to Mr Winkler, said Melco Resorts. The executive will in turn report directly to the company’s chairman and chief executive, Lawrence Ho Yau Lung, it added.
Mr Winkler also serves as a board member of Melco Resorts and will continue in that role, according to Wednesday’s release.
The executive is also president and managing director of Melco International Development Ltd, the parent company of Melco Resorts. Mr Winkler joined Melco International in August 2016.
The release quotes Melco Resorts’ CEO as saying: “The company has seen extraordinary transformations over the last few years, which have been game changing, including expanding globally, opening Morpheus, bringing more beyond-gaming attractions than ever and building up a very strong team.”
He added: “As we… move forward, I have the utmost trust in a team that has a proven track record of delivering outstanding growth for the company.”
Wednesday’s release also quotes Mr Winkler as saying that he was looking forward to “a broader role within the Melco group”.
Melco Resorts has several times restructured its executive team in recent years, with the most recent reported revamp taking place in January 2018.
