Macau casino firm MGM China Holdings Ltd hosted in mid-September its
“MGM Graduation Ceremony 2025”, marking the achievements of 2,500 workers.
During the ceremony, the company also announced the launch of three new talent development programmes. These will focus on “Hengqin-Macau new quality productivity, leadership enhancement, and youth docent training,” according to a press release.
“These initiatives align with the national strategy to foster high-quality productive forces in the cultural and tourism sectors, and support Macau’s vision of becoming a talent hub” in the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macau Greater Bay Area, stated MGM China.
The casino firm said its “MGM Leadership Symposium” has been “upgraded into a comprehensive learning platform”.
MGM China said it would “collaborate with renowned academic institutions and enterprises both locally and internationally” to support the development programmes. This programme is also backed by the company’s parent, MGM Resorts International, as well as Diaoyutai MGM Hospitality group in mainland China, and Macau’s Education and Youth Development Bureau (DSEDJ).
“By integrating academic theory with industry practice, the programme aims to help management gain insights into the latest market trends, strengthen leadership capabilities, and align more closely with government development strategies,” noted the casino concessionaire.
MGM China said it has also partnered with DSEDJ to launch the “MGM Youth Docent Development Programme”, in a bid to extend the group’s “cultural and artistic resources to local primary and secondary school students”.
The “Hengqin-Macau Cultural Tourism New Quality, New Productivity Training” will be launched in partnership with Macau’s Labour Affairs Bureau and the Livelihood Affairs Bureau of the Guangdong-Macau Intensive Cooperation Zone in Hengqin, as per the announcement.
It added: “By integrating the tourism strengths of both Hengqin and Macau, the programme aims to enhance cross-border synergy across cultural and tourism resources and inject fresh momentum into the development of Macau’s tourism industry.”
Kenneth Feng Xiaofeng, president and executive director of MGM China, said in prepared remarks: “With years of support from the government and community, MGM has continuously strengthened our talent development.”
“Our annual training hours are among the highest in the industry, underscoring our firm commitment and sustained investment in people,” he added. “The three new programmes are testaments to our commitment which not only aligns with national strategies but also contributing to Macau’s diversified growth and development.”
