Scientific Games Corp on Tuesday said it had signed a contract to provide instant games, licensed properties and marketing services for the Taiwan Lottery Co Ltd.
The two-year contract, which may be extended for an additional two years, began in June but has only just been publicised. The value of the deal was not disclosed.
Taiwan Lottery Co is an affiliate of CTBC Financial Holding Co Ltd, and operates Taiwan’s Public Welfare Lottery. Some of the money raised by the lottery goes to help disadvantaged groups on the island and to supplement public welfare funds.
“Through the exciting licensed properties Scientific Games offers, we hope to further engage and entertain players in Taiwan,” said Joy Huang, president of the Taiwan Lottery Co, in a statement.
Scientific Games, a specialist in lottery equipment and management, on August 1 said it was acquiring fellow gaming equipment maker Bally Technologies Inc in a deal valued at US$5.1 billion. That deal is currently expected to be completed in early 2015.
