Poker King Club, a business division of privately-held Macau junket investor Suncity Group, announced on Friday that it had launched a new poker room in the casino at the Paradise Hotel Busan. The 532-room property is promoted by Paradise Co Ltd, a South Korean operator of foreigner-only casinos in that nation.
According to Poker King Club’s Friday statement, a signing ceremony was held on October 10. There, Poker King Club vice president David Chee and Paradise casino division boss Ming Zhong Kim were said to have “finalised” the details for the poker game operator to host a room at Paradise Casino Busan.
The statement did not mention how long the poker room deal was to run.
In February, Suncity Group Holdings Ltd – a Hong Kong-listed vehicle controlled by Alvin Chau Cheok Wa, the boss of the privately-held Suncity Group junket business – said a wholly-owned subsidiary had signed a memo about possible cooperation with Paradise Co, focusing on Paradise Casino Busan.
Poker King Club’s Friday announcement noted that the new poker room at Paradise Casino Busan features short-deck format games and no-limit hold’em games.
Elsewhere in South Korea, the poker brand hosts a room at Paradise Casino Jeju Grand, a property that is also promoted and operated by Paradise Co. Poker King Club also operates poker rooms at the Venetian Macao, in Cotai, Macau, and at Solaire Resort and Casino in the Philippine capital Manila.
Poker King Club, founded in 2009, is an operator of poker games, including cash games and tournaments. The poker brand is hosting an upcoming tournament in Danang of Vietnam, which runs during December 4 to December 10.
