The Rainmaker Group, a specialist in what it calls “profit optimisation solutions” for hotels, casino hotels and general resorts, is to work with Genting Malaysia Bhd at its Resorts World Genting gaming resort (pictured) in that country.
Rainmaker has been asked to introduce its GuestREV product to operations at the resort, which has six hotels, including one of 7,000 rooms.
GuestREV uses mathematical and data analysis of the demand for and costs of a hospitality business, to produce what The Rainmaker Group says are the most accurate forecasts and optimal pricing for that business.
“Our goal is to continue improving our financial results through a more effective method of pricing and managing all of our guest services as part of the guest experience,” said Paul Baker, deputy chief operating officer at Resorts World Genting, in a statement issued by The Rainmaker Group, part of The Rainmaker Group Ventures LLC.
“We are delighted to be able to work with Resorts World Genting as it moves to a profit optimisation strategy based on total guest value,” said Tammy Farley, president of The Rainmaker Group.
Genting Malaysia, which also has casino operations in the United States, the Bahamas and the United Kingdom, reported a modest 1.06 percent year-on-year rise in its unaudited profit attributable to shareholders for the three months to March 31.
The firm is spending MYR5 billion (US$1.57 billion) on what it calls its ‘Genting Integrated Tourism Plan’, a 10-year programme announced in December 2013 and involving the expansion and overhaul of its facilities at Genting Highlands. The mountain resort, approximately one hour by road from the Malaysian capital Kuala Lumpur, was originally developed by Genting Group and opened in 1965.
The Rainmaker Group, which has offices in Atlanta, Georgia, Las Vegas, Nevada, and Singapore, has listed among its clients Wynn Las Vegas, Caesars Entertainment Corp, MGM Resorts International and Mohegan Sun.
