The second edition of the Macao Gaming Show began on Tuesday morning at CotaiExpo at the Venetian Macau.
The three-day trade exhibition and its accompanying conference – the Macao Gaming Summit – runs until Thursday.
Jay Chun (pictured front right), chairman of the Macau Gaming Equipment Manufacturers Association (MGEMA), the main organiser of the event, welcomed dignitaries and delegates at an opening ceremony held at 10am. Mr Chun is also chairman of Hong Kong-listed casino equipment firm Paradise Entertainment Ltd, which makes live dealer electronic table games via its subsidiary LT Game Ltd.
Mr Chun said in a prepared statement: “This year the exhibition area will almost double, to 15,000 square metres [161,500 sq feet] and the number of visitors is expected to increase by 100 percent.”
He added: “We are confident that this event will continue to offer a major opportunity for both gaming and non-gaming industries to connect on a local and international scale.”
The show organisers said that the inaugural Macao Gaming Show in 2013 attracted 110 exhibitors and had more than 8,000 visitors. They added that as of November 12, the event had signed 146 exhibitors and was expecting visitors from 20 countries.
