A total of 27 luxury Macau hotel brands – all within casino resorts – indicate they have sold out their rooms for at least four nights of the upcoming Chinese New Year (CNY) holiday season, which for mainland residents spans nine days this time. The room-demand snapshot is based on GGRAsia’s checks of the respective official booking engines of those hotels.

The research covered 36 luxury accommodation brands across resorts promoted by the six Macau gaming operators. Most of the hotels are in the city’s Cotai district.

As of Monday, four out of the 36 hotel brands were sold out for all nine nights. GGRAsia focused on the two-person, standard room, category; though some of the hotels surveyed are all-suite properties.

China’s State Council designates the latest Chinese New Year holiday on the mainland as running from February 15 (a Sunday); to February 23 (a Monday); inclusive. That is one day more than the same holiday period in 2025, which lasted from January 28 to February 4.

For the 2026 festive period, Macau hotel brands indicating no rooms for any of the festive nights this time, included: Emerald Tower and Skylofts at MGM Cotai, operated by MGM China Holdings Ltd; the Ritz-Carlton, Macau, and JW Marriott Hotel Macau, both at Galaxy Entertainment Group Ltd’s flagship Cotai property, Galaxy Macau.

A total of 27 of the 36 surveyed hotels was sold out for at least four nights. They included: Grand Lisboa, the self-branded hotel of SJM Holdings Ltd’s Macau peninsula flagship; and The Karl Lagerfeld, and Palazzo Versace Macau, both located at the company’s Cotai resort complex, Grand Lisboa Palace.

Also full for four nights or more were: the hotel at MGM Macau, on Macau peninsula; and MGM Cotai accommodation branded as M Tower. Booked up too, for at least four nights, was Wynn Macau’s self-branded hotel on the city’s peninsula, as well as its Cotai resort Wynn Palace.

Additionally flagging no space for at least four nights were: Nüwa and Morpheus at City of Dreams; as well as Celebrity Tower and Star Tower at Studio City. The two Cotai complexes are promoted by Melco Resorts and Entertainment Ltd.

Sellouts for four of the nine nights of the holiday season also applied at: Galaxy Hotel; Banyan Tree Macau; Hotel Okura Macau; Andaz Macau; Raffles at Galaxy Macau, and Capella at Galaxy Macau. All are located at Galaxy Macau.

Additionally full for four nights were Sands China Ltd’s: Paiza Lofts at The Parisian Macao; The Londoner Hotel; Paiza Grand at Londoner; and Londoner Court, all at The Londoner Macao. In the same situation were: the Four Seasons Hotel Macao and The Grand Suites at Four Seasons, next to The Venetian Macao.

The rates of the still-available Cotai hotel rooms indicated a pricing peak from February 18 to February 22. Guest rooms or suites able to accommodate two adults in that period were marked at close to or above, MOP5,000 (US$621.5) per night.

As of Monday, GGRAsia also observed that a number of luxury hotels at casino complexes indicated either they were sold out – or had limited availability – until the end of February or early March, for rooms able to accommodate two adults.

Those properties included: MGM Macau; MGM Cotai’s M Tower, Emerald Tower and Skylofts; and Wynn Macau and Wynn Palace.

Also in that situation were Galaxy Entertainment’s: Galaxy Hotel; Banyan Tree Macau; Hotel Okura Macau; The Ritz-Carlton, Macau; JW Marriott Hotel Macau; Raffles at Galaxy Macau; and Capella at Galaxy Macau.
