Visitors from an estimated 20 nations are expected to attend the Macao Gaming Show held this week, say the organisers. The three-day event starts on Tuesday.
They add that as of November 12, the event had attracted a record 146 companies – which they say is 30 percent up on the numbers for the inaugural show last year.
The opening ceremony will take place at 10am on Tuesday, November 18, at CotaiExpo at the Venetian Macao.
Jay Chun, chairman of the Macau Gaming Equipment Manufacturers Association, the main organiser of MGS – and additionally chairman of equipment maker Paradise Entertainment Ltd – issued a statement that referred to the conference as well as to the trade show.
He said: “In addition to receiving widespread commercial and government support from within Macau, we have attracted a distinguished international line-up… who will be focusing on key gaming topics and how they impact both established and emerging nations”.
Five VIP gaming promoters with operations in Macau will exhibit at this year’s show. They are AG Group, David Group, Heng Sheng Group, Macau Golden Group and Suncity Group.
Mr Chun said: “The organising team at MGS is considered [to number] insiders of the Asian gaming industry; which means that we are able to attract influential companies that don’t attend shows that are perceived as being organised by ‘outsiders’.”
Macao Gaming Show and its accompanying Macao Gaming Summit have also had recognition by Macau’s gaming regulator, the Gaming Inspection and Coordination Bureau (known as DICJ, the acronym of its Portuguese name).
Other Macau bodies giving official recognition to the event include Macao Trade and Investment Promotion Institute (known as IPIM); Macao Foundation; Macau Government Tourist Office (MGTO); the General Association of Administrators and Promoters for Macau Gaming Industry; Macau Jockey Club; the city’s sports betting monopoly Macau SLOT Co Ltd, and the city’s dog racing track operator Macau (Yat Yuen) Canidrome Co.
MGS’s Slot Experience Centre returns this year. The show as a whole will cover six topic areas: gaming equipment and accessories; gaming promoters and VIP clubs; casino fixtures and fittings; promotional services and memorabilia; food and beverage; and entertainment and performance.
