Gaming equipment testing specialist Gaming Laboratories International LLC (GLI) has named Thomas Bierbach as senior manager of the company’s professional services division.
Mr Bierbach (pictured) is described by GLI as a “respected lottery risk management and security expert”, with more than 20 years of international technology and management experience.
“His work in the identification and implementation of security and compliance programmes in support of operational integrity, fraud prevention and player protection are widely known and have solidified his reputation as a key thought leader in the field,” GLI professional services director Gregory Doucette said in a statement.
Prior to joining GLI, Mr Bierbach was senior consultant to Atlantic Lottery Professional Services Inc, advising Atlantic Lottery Corp – the lottery provider for the four Atlantic provinces of Canada – on professional services practices development. He has also served as director of security and compliance and as information technology audit manager for the Atlantic Lottery Corp.
Previously, he served as director of lottery and audit services for BMM Testlabs and represented Canada as co-chair on the World Lottery Association’s Security and Risk Management Committee.
Mr Bierbach will be based at GLI’s New Brunswick offices in Canada.
GLI is one of the largest international independent providers of testing, inspection and certification services to the gaming, wagering and lottery industries.
The company has developed several global technical standards applying to a wide array of sectors within the gaming industry. Many of them are recognised and adopted by jurisdictions around the world, including in Asia.
