FBM Foundation has taken part in the second anniversary event of the Hands of God Charity Works Cavite Chapter, in the Philippines, joining a “solidarity initiative” involving 30 citizens battling cancer, it said in a press release.
The event was held in late July at the Dr. Jose P. Rizal Elementary School in Dasmariñas, Cavite City, south of Metro Manila. It “highlighted FBM Foundation’s ongoing commitment to social responsibility and humanitarian aid,” the organisation stated in the announcement.
FBM Foundation supports humanitarian work with Filipino communities affected by natural disasters. It is coordinated by the FBM brand, a maker of casino slot machines and an international specialist in electronic bingo machines.
Hands of God Charity Works is a non-governmental organisation comprising volunteers. Their effort includes offering care through rehabilitation, medical missions, gift-giving, and education.
In the latest initiative, FBM Foundation and the Hands of God Charity Works honoured 30 ‘Cancer Warriors’ from various parts of Cavite province, where Cavite City is located. The FBM Foundation had a team of 14 volunteers that coordinated deployment of a donation including medical materials, grocery packs and the catering costs of the event.
FBM Foundation offered 30 packs of groceries and delivered 3,000 units either of medication or vitamins to the beneficiaries, via gift certificates. It also donated medical equipment and supplies.
Vitor Francisco, director at FBM Foundation, was quoted in the release as saying: “It is very fulfilling to be part of such an initiative with the power to impact decisively the well-being of 30 brave citizens battling against a cancer diagnosis.”
He added: “This coordinated effort between organisations shows that when we stand together, we are stronger, more resilient, and better equipped to build a healthier and more compassionate world for all.”
