Grand Korea Leisure Co Ltd (GKL), a South Korean operator of three foreigner-only casinos under the Seven Luck brand, has told GGRAsia it has gone live on one of its gaming floors, with its self-developed card game BROG.
Grand Korea Leisure started this month with a single live-dealer table for the game, at its Seoul Dragon City venue (pictured) in the South Korean capital.
The maximum wager on the table is KRW1 million (about US$688) per round, and a total of KRW4 million in a game spread across four rounds. The maximum bet on one game – i.e., four rounds – plus two ‘bet options’ each of KRW100,000, is a total of KRW4.2 million.
A company spokesperson said it would consider adding further tables of BROG to its group operations, depending on player demand.
Unlike existing card games where the winner is determined by the sum of the card numbers, BROG is described by its developers as “an intuitive game where the winner is determined by comparing the card patterns of the betting side and the non-betting side”.
The odds are said to increase as the up-to-four rounds are played, per bet.
At the end of last year, Grand Korea Leisure said it had struck a deal to let Landing Entertainment Korea utilise BROG in its table game operations.
Landing Entertainment Korea represents Landing Casino, the foreigner-only gaming facility at Jeju Shinhwa World resort on the semi-autonomous island of Jeju. The property is promoted by Hong Kong-listed casino developer Shin Hwa World Ltd.
