Casino concessionaire Melco Resorts & Entertainment Ltd says the company’s volunteers have since mid-January “been actively engaging with the local elderly, children, and families” in Macau, “through nearly 20 events”.
“More than 100 hours of activities” helped “over 500 beneficiaries from Melco’s community partner associations,” stated the company in a Wednesday press release.
Such initiatives included the delivery of Chinese New Year greetings and good wishes to the local community in Macau, via the group’s “Simple Acts of Kindness” volunteering initiative.
Via a focus on supporting local elderly people, Melco Resorts said its volunteers provided hair-cutting services at two local centres for the elderly. The company also organised an “Elderly Beauty Day”.
As part of the company’s “Teaching Children Values” initiative, Melco Resorts’ parent and child volunteers took part in pre-Chinese New Year cleaning activities to support elderly people living alone. Volunteers from the casino firm also visited a number of local non-governmental organisations.
Melco Resorts additionally said it “hosted festive pastry and arts and craft workshops, where the community’s families, parent-child groups, and the elderly hand-made traditional Chinese pastries and instruments”.
