Philippines-listed DigiPlus Interactive Corp says it has continued its efforts in “promoting resilience in vulnerable communities” across the country, by taking its KabuhayanPLUS programme to regions in South Luzon, the country’s main island.
Such efforts were conducted by the group’s social development arm, BingoPlus Foundation, according to a recent press release.
The announcement said the BingoPlus Foundation delivered solar lights and solar generators to Mangyan Indigenous People communities in Mindoro, as well as financial assistance to typhoon victims in the Bicol region, as part of post-disaster recovery initiatives.
“Mangyan households now benefit from solar-powered lights from BingoPlus Foundation,” said the update.
DigiPlus’ social development arm also “concluded its commitment to provide financial assistance” to families left bereaved by Super Typhoon Kristine, as part of a PHP37-million (US$645,845) pledge initiated in November 2024, said the firm.
In the first two months of 2025, the BingPlus Foundation collaborated with a field office in Bicol of the Department of Social Welfare and Development, “to provide financial aid to 74 affected families”.
According to beneficiaries, cited in the release, the financial assistance “will be used not only for house repairs, but also to sustain the education of orphaned children and daily household needs of families left behind”.
