Online bookmaker 1xBet has launched a “large tournament Indian League Carnival” for customers in time for the Indian Premier League (IPL) cricket season starting on Friday (March 21), with a real-money prize pool of INR10 million, or US$115,800.
“The tournament will occur from March 21 to May 25, and will consist of seven stages, giving participants more chances to win,” said 1xBet in a press release.
That coincides with the length of the IPL season itself, which consists of 74 matches, and involves teams that have international stars from outside India in their respective lineups.
The current champion, Kolkata Knight Riders, will defend its title against the top teams in India.
The brand stated: “Thanks to record contracts, teams have strengthened their squads with top national and international players,” meaning the IPL 2025 tournament will be “even more popular” than previous editions.
The participation of young talent in professional matches “guarantees unpredictable and intense competition throughout the tournament, while also opening new prospects for the future of cricket,” stated 1xBet.
The bookmaker said that South African wicketkeeper and batsman Heinrich Klaasen (pictured, left), a brand ambassador of 1xBet, became the most expensive player on retainer, breaking Virat Kohli’s record.
Indian left-handed opening batsman Shikhar Dhawan (pictured, right), now retired from the sport, is also a 1xBet ambassador.
