Casino industry veteran Sean McCreery joins Solaire Manila as COO

Sean McCreery has joined Solaire Resort & Casino in Manila, the Philippine capital, as its new chief operating officer (COO). Mr McCreery confirmed the move in a social media post on LinkedIn.

He took on the role earlier this month, according to the update.

The gaming complex is owned and operated by Bloomberry Resorts Corp. In May 2024, the firm opened Solaire Resort North, another gaming complex in Quezon City, northeast of Manila.

Most recently, Mr McCreery had spent 10 years with Sands China Ltd, after joining its parent company, Las Vegas Sands Corp, in 2013. He was Sands China’s executive vice-president for operations before leaving the firm in November last year “to embark on a new chapter in his career”, Sands China said at the time.

His experience in the casino industry also includes spells at Crown Melbourne, in Victoria, Australia.

His appointment comes as Bloomberry Resorts continues a major reshuffle of its senior management team. The group saw Thomas Arasi depart as president and COO in December 2024, with Greg Hawkins later appointed as his successor.

In July 2025, Damian Quayle was appointed COO of Solaire Resort North.

More recently, it was announced that Cyrus Sherafat, executive vice-president and head of gaming, would depart the firm effective from August 31.

Bloomberry Resorts reported a net loss of nearly PHP125.0 million (US$2.0 million) for the first three months of 2026. This came as net revenues declined 8.8 per cent year-on-year to just under PHP13.10 billion.
