The Philippine casino regulator, the Philippine Amusement and Gaming Corp (Pagcor), has handed over a patient transport vehicle to the Philippine National Police Academy (PNPA).
The donation – formally made on March 20 – is part of a PHP300-million (US$5.2-million) financial assistance pledge made by Pagcor’s chairman and chief executive Alejandro Tengco to the PNPA, according to a recent press release.
The patient transport vehicle is said to be equipped with a GPS navigation system, an ambulance stretcher, medical oxygen, a wheelchair, and a first aid kit to provide immediate care during patient transport to the hospital.
“This donation underscores Pagcor’s dedication to support the law enforcement community by improving facilities that help combat crime and ensure the well-being of personnel and cadets,” Mr Tengco was cited as saying in the announcement.
Colonel Marcial Fa-ed, chief of the logistics management division at PNPA, said the vehicle donated by Pagcor would be assigned to the PNPA Dispensary.
