Electronic gaming machine and casino slots supplier FBM has laid out what it says are six key elements to “game art” for the industry.
The discussion article on the company’s website marked ‘World Art Day’ on Tuesday.
“Art is complex, subjective, and fundamental for the success of any product or service. The casino industry is no exception, and FBM understands the power and influence of game art in casino game performance,” stated the brand.
First, any casino game should not only have “striking graphics and visuals” to draw in players, but also art that “resonates with the local audience”, said the supplier.
Second, “for each new game, we follow a thorough pre-production process,” said FBM.
“We analyse the latest trends and features, ensuring we are up to date with the most recent developments in design and art within the gambling industry.”
Third, FBM ensures its “2D artists, 3D artists, animators, motion designers, and technical designers” are “each contributing their expertise”.
Fourth, the company seeks to “draw influence from a wide range of sources”. These can include “video games, films, TV, classical art, music, and even something as simple as a beautiful sunset,” stated the brand.
Fifth, while competition in the video slots segment is “fierce”, FBM says its own staff are their own sternest critics, “continuously challenging’ themselves “to improve,” and create games they “can feel proud of and that the player will see as trendsetting, innovative and gratifying to look at and play”.
Sixth, is that while new tools such as artificial intelligence (AI) have “simplified and democratised the creative process of graphics and animations,” the FBM team “recognise that, regardless of technological advancements, the designers’ role remains essential in crafting and refining games”.
