Inspire Entertainment Resort, a complex with foreigner-only casino at Incheon in South Korea, says it has joined the World Wildlife Fund’s (WWF’s) ‘PACT’ campaign, pledging to reduce plastic consumption.

PACT (Plastic ACTion Initiative) is described as a business initiative aiming to “reduce waste and move towards a circular economy”.

The casino resort also ran in late March an “employee goods donation campaign” to support the Miral Welfare Foundation’s ‘Goodwill Store’, it said in a Thursday press release.

The initiatives were part of the complex’s “green efforts” prior to “Earth Day” on April 22, it added.

By joining PACT, Inspire said it would “minimise the use of single-use plastics; promote recycling of plastic waste; introduce environmentally friendly materials and contribute to the circular economy”. The venue added it would also “participate in community and environmental protection activities, and engage in ESG [environmental, social, and governance] activities”.

According to the announcement, Inspire employees donated in March a total of 1,674 items to the Goodwill Store Miral Incheon.

The release cited Chen Si, Inspire’s president, as saying: “Inspire is not only pursuing ESG practices at the corporate level but also promoting sustainable environmental protection activities based on the voluntary participation of our employees.”

“Based on these efforts, we will demonstrate proactive ESG management and encourage employees to continue engaging in voluntary eco-friendly activities,” he added.
