Jeju Dream Tower’s May casino sales up 52.5pct y-o-y

Casino sales for the promoter of Jeju Dream Tower, a resort with foreigner-only casino (pictured) on Jeju island, South Korea, rose 52.5 percent year-on-year in May, and 25.8 percent sequentially.

Such casino sales were nearly KRW41.36 billion (US$30.1 million), compared to KRW27.11 billion in May 2024.

Casino sales are net sales after deducting from gross sales certain items including commissions paid to agents.

The information was given in a Monday filing to the Korea Exchange by  Jeju Dream Tower’s promoter, Lotte Tour Development Co Ltd.

May 2025’s table game sales at the property were KRW39.39 billion, a gain of 60.5 percent on the prior-year reporting period, and up 26.6 percent from April.

Machine-game sales actually fell year-on-year in May this time, by 23.5 percent, to KRW1.96 billion. Relative to April, such sales went up 12.0 percent.

May’s hotel sales at the complex were KRW7.92 billion, a 2.3 percent rise year-on-year, and up 11.3 percent sequentially.

The May data took total Jeju Dream Tower casino sales for the first five months this year to just under KRW158.78 billion, up 35.1 percent year-on-year.

Cumulative hotel sales for the opening five months of 2025 were nearly KRW29.13 billion, down 8.9 percent year-on-year.

May’s casino table drop – the amount paid by customers to purchase chips for table games – went up 77.8 percent year-on-year and 2.8 percent month-on-month, to KRW194.19 billion.

Casino drop for the calendar year to May 31 was KRW802.71 billion, a year-on-year gain of 37.0 percent.
