Pagcor launches website for public to verify licensed online gaming platforms

The Philippine Amusement and Gaming Corp (Pagcor), the nation’s casino regulator-cum-operator, launched on Wednesday its “PAGCOR Guarantee” website, where the public can check the legitimacy of the online gaming platforms they are accessing.

The PAGCOR Guarantee website is said to feature a “regularly updated” list of licensed Internet gaming platforms, and players can directly enter those gaming sites through the  regulator’s verification website.

It is described as a “reliable reference” for players and stakeholders, amid what Pagcor said was a “proliferation” of fraudulent online gaming sites.

“Illegal online gaming sites not only endanger players but also erode public trust and deprive the government of vital revenues,” stated Pagcor’s chairman and chief executive officer Alejandro Tengco in prepared remarks cited in the Wednesday announcement.

Mr Tengco also stated: “The PAGCOR Guarantee is a key component of our regulatory framework to protect both the industry and the Filipino people.”

Pagcor-licensed online casinos and online gaming platforms are categorised as either: “e-casino games”; “e-bingo”; “sports betting”; “ specialty games”; “poker operators”; “casinos”; or “online traditional bingo” as per the PAGCOR Guarantee website.
