TransAct Technologies Inc, a supplier of slot machine printers, casino-player management software and food-safety management technology, reported second-quarter net sales of nearly US$13.8 million, a 19.0-percent increase from a year earlier, according to a Wednesday press release.

Sales in the casino and gaming segment rose by 42.4 percent year-on-year, to just over US$7.6 million in the three months to June 30. Second-quarter sales in the group’s food service technology segment increased by 14.0 percent year-on-year, to about US$4.8 million.

TransAct’s net loss for the April to June period was US$143,000, an improvement on the US$319,000 loss recorded in the prior-year period.

The company reported adjusted earnings before interest, taxation, depreciation, and amortisation (EBITDA) of US$478,000 in the three months to June 30, up from an adjusted EBITDA of US$89,000 a year earlier.

“We achieved another quarter with growing momentum, and the food service technology results reflecting progress across our sales motion and go-to-market strategies,” said John Dillon, TransAct’s chief executive, in prepared remarks included in Wednesday’s announcement.

“Our improving operations have helped us achieve profitability, with decreases in net loss for the second quarter and first half of 2025 compared to the corresponding prior-year periods and positive adjusted EBITDA in the second quarter and through the first half of 2025,” he added.

The CEO added: “In our casino and gaming market, we saw great results in the quarter which, combined with growing strength in non-casino gaming applications such as charitable gaming, drove US$7.6 million in revenue. These milestones underscore the progress we have made against the execution of our strategic priorities and pursuit of consistent growth in our results.”

On Wednesday, TransAct also announced that it had acquired a “perpetual licence” to a copy of the source code for the BOHA! Software that it uses in its terminals in the food service technology segment.

Under the terms of the agreement, TransAct has obtained a “perpetual and royalty-free licence to use, host, market, sublicence, distribute, copy, and modify the code as the company sees fit for its business purposes,” it said.

Mr Dillon stated: “This will enable us to modify, enhance, extend, and service our entire BOHA! platform on a go-forward basis as we see fit once the in-housing transition process is complete.”
