Macau-based casino operator Galaxy Entertainment Group Ltd has opened an office in Singapore in a move to “deepen regional ties and expand its international footprint,” the firm said in a press release on Monday.
The new office, located in Singapore’s central business district, “will serve as a dedicated hub to enhance connections with the Singaporean business community, as well as showcasing to Singapore and the broader Southeast Asian region Macau’s dynamic evolving tourism landscape,” Galaxy Entertainment stated.
The casino operator said the opening of the new office was “closely aligned” with the Macau government’s aim of diversifying the city’s tourism offerings and broadening its sources of visitors.
All six Macau gaming operators were required to make pledges to the Macau government – as part of their new 10-year gaming concessions that began in January 2023 – to expand the number of overseas customers they bring into Macau, as well as to improve the range and quality of non-gaming products they offer.
As part of that effort, a number of operators has been opening representative offices in other major Asian countries.
Galaxy Entertainment previously announced the launching of offices in Tokyo, Japan, and in South Korea’s capital, Seoul. The firm has also opened an office in Bangkok.
Through its “ramped-up Singapore presence,” Galaxy Entertainment aims to provide “bespoke travel experiences tailored to the preferences of Singaporean and regional travellers, ensuring seamless journeys from planning to arrival,” the firm stated in Monday’s release.
It added that the new unit would “support tourism, meetings, incentives, conferences, and exhibitions (MICE) inquiries.”
To mark the opening of the new office, Galaxy Entertainment hosted a gala dinner (pictured) in Singapore, attended by business partners and media representatives, among other guests.
At the event, Elmen Lee, director of integrated resort services at Galaxy Entertainment, said, as quoted in the company release: “Singapore has always been an important source market for Macau.”
He added: “We firmly believe that Galaxy Entertainment’s diverse offerings will attract more Singaporean visitors to visit us.”
Macau recorded a total of 60,379 visitor arrivals from Singapore in the first seven months of 2025. That was down 0.4 percent year-on-year, representing about 0.3 percent of overall visitor arrivals during the period.
