Inspire in S.Korea appoints as property vice chairman a former boss at Paradise City

Inspire Entertainment Resort, a tourism complex with foreigner-only casino at Incheon in South Korea, has appointed Park Byung-ryong (pictured) as vice chairman at the property.

The information is according to a statement provided to GGRAsia by the resort.

Chen Si, Inspire’s president and a representative director, said Mr Park’s casino-industy experience would help Inspire improve its own competitiveness.

The updated noted Mr Park had been working for Inspire as an independent director since April.

His industry experience includes roles at Paradise Co Ltd, another operator in South Korea of several foreigner-only casinos.

After joining in 1996, he later became vice chairman, chief financial officer, and president of Paradise Co. He was also president of Paradise Segasammy Co Ltd. The latter is the manager of the Paradise City casino resort at Incheon, a joint venture between Paradise Co and Japan’s Sega Sammy Holdings Inc. Mr Park helped to launch Paradise City in 2017, according to the statement.

He additionally served as head of the Korea Casino Association, an industry trade body, from 2016 to 2021, the organisation confirmed to GGRAsia.

The announcement stated Mr Park earned a master of business administration from the University of Chicago Booth School of Business in the United States, and a doctorate in business administration from Yonsei University in South Korea.
