Macau casino concessionaire Melco Resorts & Entertainment Ltd says it has donated MOP700,000 (US$87,321) to the Macau Tung Sin Tong Charitable Society.
The contribution is toward the charity’s “meaningful initiatives aimed at improving the livelihood of the community’s most vulnerable members,” stated the casino firm in a press release.
“The funds are designated to support Tung Sin Tong Charitable Society’s social welfare programmes and community poverty alleviation services,” the company added.
Tung Sin Tong was founded in 1892, and is presently considered one of the most important poverty-relief focused Chinese organisations in Macau.
A donation presentation ceremony was held on November 20 at City of Dreams, where Melco Resorts’ chairman and chief executive, Lawrence Ho Yau Lung, greeted members of the Tung Sin Tong delegation, including: José Chui Sai Peng, chairman of the board; Mok Chi Wai and Kevin Ho, vice chairmen; and directors Charles Choy and Jeffrey Ho.
