Macau casino concessionaire Galaxy Entertainment Group Ltd says it continues to support “various local charitable projects and social services” via initiatives “aimed at fostering Macau’s sustainable development”.
The company donated in early December MOP700,000 (US$87,319) to the Macau Tung Sin Tong Charitable Society, for its annual fundraising campaign. Galaxy Entertainment noted it has contributed to Tung Sin Tong “since 2004”.
Such donations are for the “ongoing expansion” of Tung Sin Tong’s “charitable services” and help the organisation provide “appropriate care to those in need,” stated Galaxy Entertainment in a written announcement.
During a cheque presentation ceremony, Galaxy Entertainment’s representatives “expressed gratitude for Tung Sin Tong’s long-standing commitment to advancing diverse charitable services that benefit the elderly, youth, and various community groups,” as per the announcement.
The casino firm said that over the years it has maintained close ties with various charitable and social service associations, including Tung Sin Tong, using the firm’s resources “to fulfil its social responsibility”.
This year, Galaxy Entertainment worked with Tung Sin Tong to co-organise and support a series of youth-focused initiatives, said the company.
That included inviting students from Escola Tung Sin Tong to join an “Off-site Collaboration with Overseas Invited Chef”; as well as arranging for families from the primary-school section of Escola Tung Sin Tong to participate in interactive storytelling sessions and workshops focused on resource conservation.
The casino group also welcomed more than 100 students and teachers from Escola Tung Sin Tong to an open rehearsal of the “35th Macao Art Festival – Macao Chinese Orchestra Cantonese Opera Concert ‘Unveiling Harmonious Voices’”, at Broadway Theatre, part of the Broadway Macau property, the company added.
