SJM Resorts Ltd, the Macau casino operating unit of Hong Kong-listed SJM Holdings Ltd, says it has continued its “longstanding commitment” to public welfare by “actively supporting charitable initiatives in Macau”.
As part of such effort, the casino firm said it donated MOP700,000 (US$87,359) to support the annual fundraising campaign of the Macau Tung Sin Tong Charitable Society.
The SJM group said it collaborated with the charity organisation “to demonstrate support and promote care and positivity within the community”.
Tung Sin Tong was founded in 1892, and is presently considered one of the most important poverty-relief -focused Chinese organisations in Macau, providing free medical services, medicine, and education to people in need.
A cheque presentation ceremony was held at the group’s Grand Lisboa Palace complex in Cotai.
The announcement cited Daisy Ho Chiu Fung, managing director of SJM Resorts, as saying that the company “collaborates with various social service organisations in Macau to assist those in need in the community”.
