Global Gaming Women (GGW) has announced the appointment of Siobhan Lane (pictured), group chief executive of gaming at Light & Wonder Inc, as the body’s president and board chair.

GGW is a non-profit organisation dedicated to supporting, inspiring, and influencing the professional development of women in the gaming sector. It brings together women from all gaming-business segments “to enrich their professional and personal lives,” according to its website.

Ms Lane most recently served GGW in the post of 1st vice president, a role now held by Brandi Ellis, a long-serving executive in the gaming industry, according to a Wednesday written announcement.

Adriana Kasunic, vice president of people operations at The Venetian Resort Las Vegas, in Nevada, has been named to the post of 2nd vice president at GGW, a role previously held by Ms Ellis.

GGW’s new leadership appointments take effect from January 1, 2026, and run through to 2028.

Ms Lane said in prepared remarks: “GGW’s mission to support, inspire, and influence the development of women in the gaming industry began thanks to its founders’ vision and commitment, which I am excited to champion in my role as president and chair of the board of directors.”

Ms Lane’s term as head of the GGW comes at the conclusion of Lauren Bates’ two-year presidential term. Ms Bates is currently vice president of sales at Light & Wonder.

The release cited Ms Bates as saying: “Throughout her many years of service to the organisation, Siobhan’s ardent focus on education has significantly expanded GGW’s offerings and reach, which we will see continued in her leadership as president.”

Ms Bates also extended her “deepest gratitude” to GGW’s members, sponsors, board members, and volunteers, for their “dedicated commitment to the organisation”.

During her term, she noted, the GGW secured “more than 3,000 new members, launched 10 new programmes, and held 17 live education events, which expanded into two new countries”.

GGW also flagged the appointment of Julie Woodruff, vice president of finance at Seminole Casino Hotel Immokalee, in Florida, as board secretary.
