Iveda says to expand deployment of AI tech at Subic Sun resort

Nasdaq-listed Iveda Solutions Inc, a provider of artificial intelligence (AI)-based video surveillance and other technology, says its products will be “integrated deeply” into guest-experience operations, VIP services, and hospitality work across the Subic Sun resort, a coming gaming complex in the Subic Bay area of the Philippines.

With more than 350 rooms, the complex will feature the Mercure Hotel and Ibis Styles brands, part of the hospitality group Accor.

A Tuesday announcement from United States-based Iveda said the property would have a “grand opening” in March this year. In a previous release, Iveda had mentioned a December 2025 opening for the venue.

The update cited Lino Barte, described as “lead property developer” of Subic Sun Convention, Resort and Casino Inc, as saying that the IvedaAI system, a real-time intelligence software, would allow the complex “to personalise every touchpoint – from VIP greetings to room preferences – while ensuring safety, efficiency, and world-class hospitality”.

A ground-breaking ceremony for the complex was held in March 2024, as reported at the time by several Philippine media outlets. According to those reports, the resort had a price tag of PHP16.6 billion (US$279.8 million currently).

The site is at Subic Special Economic and Freeport Zone, in Central Luzon, about 170 kilometres (106 miles) northwest of the national capital, Manila.

David Ly, chief executive and founder of Iveda, was quoted as saying in Tuesday’s update: “As the global hospitality industry accelerates toward AI-first operations, we’re seeing a clear shift in how resorts think about guest experience.”

He added: “From Subic Bay to Macau and around the world, we’re working with hotel operators who are looking for intelligent systems that elevate service without adding complexity.”

As per the update, IvedaAI’s real-time analytics “are being embedded directly into core hotel operations to streamline service, personalise guest interactions, and increase overall efficiency”.

The platform’s facial and behavioural analytics are said to allow staff to recognise VIPs and returning guests instantly upon arrival, “enabling more thoughtful greetings and tailored service informed by past visits and preferences”.

Iveda said that as well as optimising customer relationship management, IvedaAI supports “predictive staffing, rapid incident detection, luggage tracking, asset protection, service responsiveness, and casino floor optimisation driven by real-time foot traffic insights”.
