Gaming supplier Zitro International has announced that its vice president Manuela Jiménez has retired, “leaving behind a legacy of more than 50 years in the gaming industry”.
Ms Jiménez has been with the company for nearly 18 years, according to a Tuesday press release.
Albert Zorrilla, who has served as general manager for Zitro in Spain for the past year, “has been working closely with Manuela and will continue to lead the company’s Spanish operations,” the firm said.
Since joining Zitro in 2009, Ms Jiménez “has played a key role in strengthening the company’s position as one of the leading global suppliers in the industry,” as per the announcement.
The update cited Johnny Ortiz, founder of Zitro, as saying: “Manuela has been with me since we started this venture, and I honestly can’t imagine Zitro without her.”
He added: “She’s put her heart into this company every single day. Her experience, judgment, and ability to connect with people are qualities that cannot be replaced.”
Ms Jiménez, who this month was recognised as “Woman of the Year” at the European Casino Awards, said in prepared remarks that she had watched Zitro “grow from the very beginning”.
“As I say farewell, I do so with immense pride in what we’ve accomplished, knowing Zitro is in excellent hands,” she added.
Zitro, traditionally strong in Europe and Latin America, has been expanding its footprint in Asia and in the United States.
The company, which recently joined the American Gaming Association (AGA) as a member, said in mid-January that its new Fantasy slot cabinet made its debut in the U.S. market.
