Visitor tally for May’s G2E Asia and Asian IR Expo likely up a third year-on-year to 8,000-plus: organiser

The upcoming industry trade show and conference Global Gaming Expo (G2E) Asia 2026 and the concurrent Asian IR Expo – to be held in May at Cotai casino resort The Venetian Macao – are expected to attract over 8,000 visitors, a 33.3-percent increase from last year’s 6,000.

That is according to representatives from the event organiser RX (formerly known as Reed Exhibitions) in comments to the press on Wednesday.

No announcements were made regarding keynote speakers for the conference portion of the event.

The G2E Asia casino trade and conference show sees its 17th edition this year, and will run from May 12 to May 14 inclusive. The concurrent Asian IR Expo – focusing on non-gaming services, including live entertainment, sports and hotel design at integrated resorts (IRs) – first saw an edition being held in Macau in 2023.

Speaking to the press on the sidelines of a Wednesday briefing, Vera Ng (pictured left), project director at RX, said the estimated increase in visitor volume for this year’s trade event would be driven by attendees interested in non-gaming topics.

This year’s G2E Asia and Asian IR Expo will, in aggregate, span over 30,000 square metres (322,917 sq. feet), featuring over 150 exhibiting companies.

The two events respectively encompass a three-day conference programme, featuring in total more than 30 sessions with over 50 speakers.

The content of G2E Asia and the Asian IR Expo will this year focus on digital innovation and non-gaming diversification, according to the organiser. It will cover topics including the application of artificial intelligence (AI), robotics, and sports-related entertainment. That is according to Yip Je Choong (pictured right), senior vice president commercial – Asia Pacific at RX, in comments at Wednesday’s presentation.

Mr Yip said RX was aware of the competitive challenge posed by the presence of an increasing number of regional trade events with similar content. But he added RX is confident that its annual events are “delivering value” for the industry.

“We are concerned” regarding “the competition, but we don’t focus on them: we focus on delivering value,” Mr Yip remarked to the press.

He added: “When we organise these events, we are always improving, and we are always driven by customer value.

“That is the main focus for our event: we believe that with a continuous improvement in customer value and customer ROI [return on investment], the show brand will just continue to be stronger every year.”
