PhilWeb adds Games Global as its latest exclusive tie-up in online gaming sector

Philippines-listed PhilWeb Corp says it has signed an exclusive partnership with gaming content and technology provider Games Global, expanding its portfolio of agreements within the country’s regulated online gaming market.

In a Friday filing to the Philippine Stock Exchange, the company said the arrangement would allow licensed gaming operators in the Philippines to utilise Games Global’s hosted gaming services through PhilWeb, “subject to applicable regulatory approvals and contractual agreements”.

According to the announcement, Games Global is a business-to-business provider of hosted gaming services and technology products. The company is said to supply a portfolio of gaming products and related services to operators in regulated markets worldwide through scalable application programming interface (API) integrations.

PhilWeb did not disclose financial terms of the agreement or identify any operators that had committed to using the service.

The latest deal builds on PhilWeb’s strategy of repositioning itself as a technology and infrastructure provider for the Philippines’ regulated online gaming sector following a change in ownership earlier this year.

The company has been expanding its portfolio of content, and its platform services and managed services through partnerships with international suppliers and domestic gaming operators.

Earlier this month, PhilWeb announced an exclusive partnership with casino content provider Pragmatic Play, under which it would offer the supplier’s gaming services to licensed operators in the Philippines, also subject to regulatory approvals.

Prior to that, the company secured agreements to support the online gaming operations of several Philippine casino operators, including Newport World Resorts and Okada Manila, as well as partnerships with Hann Casino Resort and FBM Philippines.

The Games Global announcement also follows a series of corporate developments at PhilWeb this year, including a change in its shareholder base and the appointment of new directors. Among them is businessman Lance Gokongwei, who made a personal investment in the company.

PhilWeb has said it intends to focus on developing digital gaming infrastructure and online gaming services for licensed operators in the Philippines.
