Alfastreet – a privately held Slovenian manufacturer of multi-player electronic gaming products – says it has won a number of orders in Asia for WIKY, its latest multi-game single terminal for casinos, featuring the firm’s largest-ever touchscreen.
“Deals we already have confirmed, signed, shipped, are for the Philippines, Cambodia and Saipan,” Albert Radman (pictured left), sales director of Alfastreet, told GGRAsia.
Mr Radman and his sales director for Asia, Deric Goh (pictured right) stated the company has had an excellent response to the product, with its 32-inch (81.3-centimetre) touchscreen display. The product was displayed at the recent Global Gaming Expo Asia (G2E Asia) held in Macau.
Mr Radman said that despite the large size of the screen on each terminal, the company has managed to keep the amount of space each WIKY terminal takes up on a casino floor the same as with smaller-screen products.
“At 32 inches, the screen is way ahead of every other electronic table game product, but the footprint of the unit on the casino floor is the same as before. That took us a lot of development. Also, the touchscreen panel is not so easy to make in that size and still keep responsive. So we had a lot of development and sourcing and testing, until we got the right product and the right screen,” Mr Radman told us.
The large screen means players can participate in up to four different games at the same time on the same screen, including casino favourites such as baccarat and roulette.
“The advantage of the big screen means you can play more games at the same time on the one screen, so there’s no switching between games like on other products,” he stated. “Another advantage is, if you are playing a single game, your betting field is huge. So the clarity of the screen and the field of vision makes it much more comfortable for the player than any of the other products in the market.”
The WIKY betting terminals can be connected either to fully-live dealer tables – where the dealer registers the bets and settles payments; or to a so-called “semi-live” table – where the dealer deals the cards or spins the roulette wheel or operates the dice shaker, but the bets are made and settled electronically; or to a virtual dealer machine, where the dealer appears as a video image; or to a fully-automated electronic gaming machine or series of automated machines.
