The 2015 edition of Global Gaming Expo Asia (G2E Asia) was the largest ever, measured by attendance, co-organiser Reed Exhibitions says.

The event, held from May 19 to 21 at casino resort the Venetian Macao, attracted a “record-breaking attendance of 10,095 visitors from 79 countries and regions, along with 185 exhibiting companies,” Reed Exhibitions said in a Wednesday press release, adding the figures had been audited by a third party organisation.

Last year’s edition of G2E Asia had recorded more than 8,200 visitors, according to Reed Exhibitions. A total of 160 exhibitors took part in the 2014 event.

The co-organiser added: “Additionally demonstrating the event’s ever-expanding interest from abroad, 7,288 or 69 percent of G2E Asia 2015 visitors came from outside of Macau, a 20-percent jump from the previous year.”

According to Reed Exhibitions, a total of 668 buyers with purchasing budgets visited G2E Asia 2015. Out of this group, more than 80 pre-arranged meetings were conducted on the show floor.

G2E Asia made its debut at Macau Tower in 2007. The annual event, organised by the American Gaming Association and Reed Exhibitions, has been taking place at the Venetian Macao since 2008.

The partners also work together on Global Gaming Expo in Las Vegas – the sister event to G2E Asia – which launched in 2001.

“We’re already anticipating an even bigger, record-breaking show at G2E Asia 2016,” Reed Exhibitions Greater China president Hu Wei said in a statement. The 2016 edition will again return to the Venetian Macao, from May 17 to 19.
