Macau’s casino regulator, the Gaming Inspection and Coordination Bureau, told GGRAsia by email on Wednesday that it had “not received any official letter” from Wynn Macau Ltd regarding reports that a Macau junket operator might be closing down a room at the Wynn Macau casino resort (pictured).
A report in Macau newspaper Business Daily, quoting a local casino labour organisation called Forefront of Macao Gaming, suggested junket operator AG Group had plans to close down a VIP room in Wynn Macau. The story cited an internal notice to employees reportedly obtained by the labour group.
Currently AG Group has 15 VIP rooms, shared evenly between Wynn Macau, L’Arc (pictured left behind Wynn Macau) – an SJM Holdings Ltd-licensed property – and Galaxy Entertainment Group Ltd’s Galaxy Macau, according to the junket operator’s website.
GGRAsia approached both AG Group and Wynn Macau Ltd for comment on the report of a planned VIP room closure at Wynn Macau, but had received no response at the time this story went online.
