GTech to develop new gaming platform

GTech Canada ULC is leading a consortium to develop a “multi-channel content application platform”.

GTech Canada is a subsidiary of GTech SpA, a leading commercial lottery operator and provider of technology in regulated gaming markets, including slot machines under the SPIELO brand.

GTech Canada says the new project will enable simultaneous deployment of new games across mobile, Internet and land-based channels. The group was given a C$5 million (US$4.7 million) grant by Canada’s New Brunswick province toward the cost of the research and development.

For this project GTech Canada will lead a consortium that includes Canadian business technology developer T4G Ltd, New Brunswick Community College and First Mobile Education, GTech said in a statement.

The group will work to develop “cross-channel games and functionalities”. A key part of the project involves using T4G’s analytics to measure performance of single game titles across multiple channels, as well as comparing player behaviour and player segmentation.

“Mobile is the fastest-growing component in the interactive gaming segment, and this platform will enable GTech to provide gaming operators around the world with innovative game content and features across new and existing channels, and cross-channel analytics that will provide operators with a single view of the player,” GTech Canada vice president of business strategy and development, Don Doucet, said in the statement.
