China LotSynergy equips Cambodian Welfare Lottery

China LotSynergy Holdings Ltd, a provider of technology and services for mainland China’s lottery market, says it has helped to launch a management system for scratch card products and prize claims for the Cambodian Welfare Lottery in that Southeast Asia country.

The system is being provided by Ace Metro Ltd – a wholly owned subsidiary of China LotSynergy – to Khmer Pool Welfare Lottery Co Ltd. The two parties began collaboration in August.

According to the filing, Khmer Pool is authorised by the Cambodian government to develop welfare lottery business nationally in Cambodia.

The new system provides services for “point-of-sale top up, prize claims, inventory management and inquiries,” said China LotSynergy in a filing to the Hong Kong Stock Exchange.

The group added that Khmer Pool currently has the nation’s largest instant lottery product network in Cambodia in terms of the scale and sales amount. The instant scratch card logistics management and prize claim system newly provided by the group is “currently the largest, most technologically advanced, and constructed to the highest standards in Cambodia,” said China LotSynergy.

In 2015 Ace Metro made a 10-year exclusive cooperation agreement with Khmer Pool for Cambodia’s welfare lottery business, according to the latest filing.

Currently under the deal, China LotSynergy’s unit is providing services and equipment including QR (quick response) code readers, a centralised hardware management platform, and construction of a instant scratch card logistics management and prize claim system, as well as staff training for Khmer Pool personnel and point-of-sale support.

The China LotSynergy group will receive fees for its work calculated on the basis of a share of lottery revenue, said the filing.

“Management believes that the new market prospects in Cambodia would bring broad development opportunities for this project,” the firm added.

A May filing from the group said it had launched what it termed a Cambodia National Sports Lottery business in the southeast Asian country.

That project is between Ace Metro and Cambodia’s National Sport Lottery Company Ltd.
