Australia-listed casino investor Frontier Capital Group Ltd announced on Tuesday that it had appointed as its executive chairman a former employee of Malaysian conglomerate Genting Group, an operator globally of casino resorts.

Frontier Capital said Henri Ho had more than 17 years of expertise in the gaming and hospitality sectors, mainly with Genting. It added Mr Ho was a certified public accountant and had trained at KPMG Peat Marwick Malaysia.

“His remuneration will be paid by E!xcite Gaming and Entertainment Inc which provides management services to Stotsenberg Hotel and Casablanca Casino,” added Tuesday’s filing.

In January, Frontier Capital won approval from its shareholders for the acquisition of a gaming property called Hotel Stotsenberg and Casablanca Casino in the Clark Freeport Zone, in the Philippines.

Frontier Capital announced in November it had decided to buy Stotsenberg Leisure and Hotel Corp – the holding firm for the Clark casino hotel – for a total consideration of US$26 million.

Frontier Capital is planning to introduce live telephone betting – known in the industry as proxy betting – at the casino, according to a report from financial consultancy services firm Alpha Securities Pty Ltd.
