The organiser and owner of the Australasian Gaming Expo (AGE) says this year’s edition will be even more visitor-friendly thanks to an updated version of the event’s software application for digital devices.
The three-day Australasian Gaming Expo 2016 – a trade show for the casino, electronic gaming machine and hospitality industries – will open on August 9 and run until August 11, at the Sydney Exhibition Centre at Glebe Island, Sydney, New South Wales.
“New features… will help visitors to find exhibitors at the show and also keep the visitors abreast of news and activities while they are at the show,” said the organiser, the Gaming Technologies Association (GTA), in a press release.
The updated app (pictured) has a searchable alphabetical database of exhibitors. By clicking on an exhibitor’s stand number, the user is shown an interactive map that indicates that stand’s location on the show floor.
Visitors that already have the app from last year’s event can update it in order to receive the new features. As with last year’s app, users will receive a welcome message as they pass through the entry gate.
Once visitors enter the exhibition area and pass various points the app will send them event updates and reminders on Expo features such as the Daily Vegas Draw, event entertainment and other activities.
The prize draw – held on each day of the Expo – offers visitors a daily chance to win one trip for two to Las Vegas, Nevada, in the United States.
The 2016 edition of AGE will feature more than 200 exhibitors across 17,000 square metres (183,000 sq feet) of exhibition space, says the organiser.
“The Australasian Gaming Expo is easily the biggest event of its type in Australia and one of the world’s biggest. All indications are that the exhibition will again be full to capacity with a wide range of companies showcasing the world’s best gaming and related equipment and services,” said the GTA in its latest press release.
The GTA stated in a January press release that a rejig of the floor plan for the 2016 edition would mean a 9 percent increase in floor space compared to last year’s event. There will also be a visitor lounge that takes advantage of the panoramic views of Sydney Harbour; and an exhibitor sales area that will preview the 2017 event.
As with the 2015 edition, the ferry ride from nearby Darling Harbour in downtown Sydney, to Glebe Island will be free for expo visitors.
