Gaming testing specialist and technical consultancy Gaming Laboratories International LLC (GLI) says the American Association for Laboratory Accreditation (A2LA) has awarded several of the company’s laboratories, including the one in Macau, continued accreditation to ISO/IEC 17025:2005.

The accreditation covers also the laboratories in New Jersey, Nevada and Colorado – all facilities in the United States – as well as facilities in British Columbia, Canada, the firm said in a press release on Tuesday. It said the standard “helps ensure that testing is done consistently regardless of laboratory location”.

ISO/IEC 17025 specifically addresses factors relevant to a laboratory’s ability to produce precise, accurate test and calibration data, according to the International Organization for Standardization.

“A2LA thoroughly assessed all aspects of our quality management system and the technical implementation of our testing, inspection and certification procedures. The successful conclusion is a credit to the professionalism of all personnel and a demonstration of our ongoing commitment to our clients,” said Mark J. Mensik, GLI’s quality management systems global manager, in a statement accompanying the press announcement.

The accreditation renewal is the culmination of a two-month assessment process, according to the press release.

During the assessment, GLI’s world headquarters in New Jersey also received continued accreditation to ISO/IEC 17020:2012, the firm said. ISO/IEC 17020 outlines specific requirements for the competence of bodies performing inspections.
