Global Gaming Expo (G2E) – a trade show for the casino industry – launches its 2016 edition on Tuesday (September 27) in Las Vegas, Nevada, in the United States.
This year’s G2E will see more than 25,000 industry professionals in attendance at what is described by the presenter – the American Gaming Association (AGA) – and the organiser – Reed Exhibitions – as the world’s largest casino-gaming trade show.
As well as displays from the industry’s main suppliers of casino technology and services, the 2016 edition will include an element focused on non-gaming business, called the “Integrated Resort Experience”. It is described as “the first-ever event to centralise sourcing of new products, technologies, and services that drive revenue and value from non-gaming sources”. The “Integrated Resort Experience” will cover four major segments: hospitality concepts; technology solutions; food and beverage services; and entertainment.

“In addition to the innovative products that debut on the show floor, an integral part of G2E has always been providing a forum for our industry to connect,” said Andrew Ortale, the AGA’s vice president of industry services, in a press release. “This year, guests will have opportunities at a number of engaging events to share insights and make connections with their peers from around the world,” he added.
G2E 2016 also has what are termed “Education Sessions”. They started on Monday (September 26), the day before the trade show, and run until Thursday. One of the Monday education sessions was “AML Update,” looking at anti-money laundering compliance concerns, legislation – including new proposals at federal level in the U.S. – as well as recent enforcement actions.
On Tuesday, the education sessions include “Gaming Industry Imperatives in High-Tech Recruitment and Retention,” moderated by Ian Hughes, vice president of global services for testing consultancy Gaming Laboratories International LLC; and with panel members including Gary Melampy, chief human resources officer for gaming technology and services firm Scientific Games Corp; and Maureen Sweeny, chief commercial officer at Australia-based slot machine maker Aristocrat Leisure Ltd.
Also on Tuesday is “Gaming Suppliers Roundtable”. The moderator is Tom Nieman, vice president of marketing, at gaming market technology supplier Japan Cash Machine Co Ltd (JCM), a firm also known as JCM Global. The speakers scheduled for the roundtable are: Mark Dunn, executive vice president and general counsel, Aristocrat Technologies Inc; Derik Mooberry, group chief executive, gaming, Scientific Games; and David Lucchese, executive vice president games at cash handling specialist and gaming content provider Everi Holdings Inc.
Wednesday’s education sessions during G2E 2016 include “Innovative Growth: Gaming’s Future Products and Locations”. The moderator is Michael Soll, president, The Innovation Group; with listed speakers Walter Bugno, chief executive international at gaming machine and lottery services firm International Game Technology Plc; and Alan Feldman, executive vice president at casino operator MGM Resorts International.
