The International Association of Gaming Advisors (IAGA), a body representing lawyers and other counsellors to the casino and gaming sectors, has confirmed it will shortly open conference and hotel registration for its International Gaming Summit to be held in Macau in May.

The event – from May 14 to 16 inclusive – will be at the Four Seasons Hotel Macao (pictured) at the Venetian Macao casino resort. The summit will be concurrent to the Global Gaming Expo (G2E) Asia 2018 casino industry trade show and conference, which is to be held from May 15 to 17 inclusive at the Venetian Macao’s Cotai Expo.

IAGA’s 2018 International Gaming Summit will include one-day workshops on responsible gaming and financial crime, plus a workshop focused on global regulatory issues and initiatives.

IAGA also confirmed that on Wednesday at its annual meeting, Rui Pinto Proença, a partner at MdME Lawyers Macau, had been voted onto IAGA’s board of trustees with immediate effect.

Additionally, Laura McAllister Cox, a former executive vice president, general counsel and corporate secretary of casino currency maker Gaming Partners International Corp – and currently vice president of regulatory compliance and legal counsel for U.S.-based casino operator Rush Street Gaming LLC – has been announced as the new president of IAGA for 2017-18. She will take office on November 1.

John McManus, executive vice president, general counsel and secretary, for casino group MGM Resorts International, will be IAGA vice president for the period.
