Sega Sammy Creation Inc, a Japanese supplier of casino gaming equipment, says Dominic Laubach, a 10-year veteran at executive level in the Macau casino market, has joined the firm’s Asia sales team as senior advisor.

Sega Sammy Creation confirmed the appointment to GGRAsia in an emailed statement in response to our enquiry. The firm said Mr Laubach’s new role – effective from July 1 – involved responsibility for “all sales functions in Asia”.

It added Mr Laubach was most recently assistant vice president for electronic games at StarWorld Hotel, a casino resort promoted by Macau-based casino operator Galaxy Entertainment Group Ltd. He worked at that group for seven years. Mr Laubach had previously been director of slot operations for Sands Macao, a gaming venue promoted by Sands China Ltd, a Macau unit of United States-based casino operator Las Vegas Sands Corp.

He started work in Macau with that group in 2007 and contributed “significantly” to the opening of the Venetian Macao casino resort, Sega Sammy Creation further stated.

Before that, he held senior positions in Las Vegas, Nevada, casinos including the Tropicana, where he managed the electronic game department, the Japanese supplier added.

“We believe that he will offer outstanding leadership and expertise for our Asia sales team to expand to new [markets] in Asia and we are excited to work with him,” Sega Sammy Creation remarked to us in its emailed statement.

In May a Sega Sammy Creation representative told GGRAsia that the firm was looking to expand its footprint in Southeast Asia with new slot machines, and to offer compact formats of electronic table games (ETGs) products that would be suitable for the smaller gaming venues to be found across Asia.

Sega Sammy Creation supplies equipment in regulated markets across Asia and in Nevada, in the U.S. The company was founded in June 2013 as part of Japan’s Sega Sammy Group.
