Seoul casino first to get Sci Games’ Quartz Hybrid terminals

Casino gaming equipment supplier Scientific Games Corp says it has completed the first installation of its newest electronic table system terminal, Quartz Hybrid. The product has been deployed at the Seven Luck Casino at the Millennium Hilton in Gangnam, Seoul, South Korea.

The 45 terminals installed feature some of Asia’s most popular table games such as baccarat, roulette and sic bo, the company said in a press release.

“We are very happy that shortly after the launch of Quartz Hybrid at G2E Asia this year, the first terminals have been installed at Seven Luck Casino in Seoul,” said Ken Jolly, Scientific Games’ vice president and managing director for Asia, in prepared comments.

The Seven Luck casino brand is operated by South Korean gaming operator Grand Korea Leisure Co Ltd. The latter is a subsidiary of the Korea Tourism Organization, which in turn is affiliated to South Korea’s Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism.

The casino operating entity runs three foreigner-only casinos in South Korea under the Seven Luck brand: two in the capital Seoul, and one in the southern port city of Busan.

Quartz Hybrid runs on Scientific Games’ ArgOS operating system platform. Multigame configurations allow the terminal to be “linked to both virtual games and hybrid live dealer games, or operate independently,” the firm said. Increased connectivity allows Quartz Hybrid to connect to up to 50 gaming tables.

The Quartz Hybrid terminal features high-definition graphics on a touch screen “giving players a more immersive experience,” said Scientific Games. The player interface features game statistics as well as a dealer activity display. Players can choose to view up to eight games at any one time on the single screen.
